Hospital Visit

Audrey went for her normal doctor visit yesterday, and end up being admitted into Labor and Delivery at the hospital. She stayed over night for observation, and is now home resting. It was a long night, but everything is okay.

I will be posting more information to the Newsletter as soon as I can.

Proud Dad

We begin our 33rd week today, and it is starting to get weird. On Monday night, Audrey is laying in bed reading as she always does before bed. I lay down beside her, and put my ear to her belly as I do almost every night. I heard some sloshing and the normal sounds from someone’s belly. Disappointed, I started poking around on her belly. When I moved my hand to her upper belly, I felt something hard that about the size of a half dollar. I gently pressed on it, and it moved away from me!! This was an exciting yet creepy moment for me. Every night since, I have been playing tag with my son. I chase him all around his mothers belly until Audrey yells at me for ’stirring him up before bed’.

This Dad thing is going to be a lot of fun.

Excellent News

As most of you know this has been an interesting pregnancy to say the least. From the miscarriage at Christmas to getting pregnant a month later. Then having bleeding in the first 5 weeks and being diagnosed with Placenta Previa. This summer seemed like a breeze. The previa took care of itself and everything was going well. The Friday before we went back to work I had a regular checkup and Dr. Lee noticed a slight arrhythmia with Alex’s heart so she sent me for a level 2 ultrasound. Dr. Zeretsky confirmed it so it was back to Dr. Lee to figure out what to do. Both Drs agreed that it was very mild and Dr. Z informed us that of the 2-4 patients each week that he sees with this condition all have been perfectly fine after birth. Since the 13th we have been back to for ultrasounds and checkups 4 or 5 times. Each visit has been a little more encouraging because the irregular heartbeat was less and less frequent. Well today they hooked me up to a fetal heart monitor and listened for a good 15-20 minutes, then they did an ultrasound and monitored Alex’s heart for another 15 minutes or so. In all that time we never once saw or heard the arrhythmia. That is excellent news! Keep all those prayers coming and thanks for all those that have been said already. We have to go back for the next 2 weeks for monitoring, but we are expecting a good report and hoping that after this everything else will be smooth sailing!

Happy Birthday to me!

We went to the doctor yesterday for another check up. The doctor is now wanting to do appointments every two weeks. The baby is healthy and growing bigger every day. Since our last appointment, Alex has grown another half pound, so he is up to 4 and 1/2 pounds now. We will get an exact weight next week.

Another big event this week is Alexs’ daddy’s birthday. On Saturday, I turn 30. Audrey is having a small party for me. With the baby coming, I actually *feel* older this year.

I will ask Audrey to post more detail of her latest office visit, because she can give more detail than I. That is her department.
