As I was scrolling through the photos on my phone, I realized that I forgot to post a photo to the journal. On May 25th, we took Alex to the doctor. Daycare had reported to us that he had some stuff coming from his eye. It was yellowish looking mucus, so we took him down to Dr. Paroulo’s office. Dr. Paroulo said it was a cold in his eye and gave us some eye drops.
Have you ever felt sometimes your trying to hard to do the right thing? Well, we held Alex down and pried his little eye open to put the drops in his eyes. Of course, he cried until we were done. This evening it dawned on us - why don’t we just lay him down and drop the eye drops in his eyes as he is looking up at us? No holding him down, and no eye prying. Sure enough, this worked much better. He stares at the bottle until the drop hits him in the eye. He blinks a few times, but doesn’t really seem to care.
It would be nice if they published a manual for this parenting thing.
It’s been another crazy month. Alex is sitting up on his own, and he has had two teeth come through. I think the boy is ready to eat. Alex loves to play. I took this picture yesterday when we were playing in the floor. Alex sits and flaps his arms so hard sometimes I think he going to fly away. He will be 7 months old in a few weeks. We just recently posted his 6 months photos in the Photo Section. Summer is here, and Alex can not wait to go swimming. It was 100 degrees today, so be on the look out for Surfer Alex photos.
It was another great weekend. Since the last few posts have included a photo of Alex in his carseat, I thought I should keep it going. :) We went shopping on Saturday, and half way into Target Alex was already asleep. Notice the death grip on the carseat. I swear I have never knocked him out of it, but you wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at this photo. Anyway, it was a cold Saturday, but the sun was shining for our baseball game on Sunday. I posted some pictures in the photo section of our first trip to a baseball game with Alex. He really seemed to enjoy himself. We lathered him in Sun Block and made a day of it. Alex will be 6 months old on Tuesday. What a little man.
I posted another video of Alex on my .Mac homepage, go to http://homepage.mac.com/dpruitt/ and watch a disturbing video of Alex and Humphrey kissing. He loves Humphrey, and Humphrey loves Alex, but I don’t think all the mouth cleaning is necessary. Yuck.
