Alex loves Chuck E Cheese Pizza. Tonight, we went to celebrate the birthday of one of our (and Alex) friends, Rodey Wiggins. Before dinner, we put Alex into one of the small cars, and he had a great time. He giggled and smiled the entire time that silly car rocked him back and fourth. It’s been a pretty great week. I went back to work full time, and Audrey and Alex are getting to spend some mommy/son time together before school starts again. Tomorrow night, we are going to a baseball game with some other friends. They had their first baby a few weeks before Alex was born, so it will be great to catch up with them.
I hope everyone is doing great!! TTFN!
As some of you know, I have accepted a job with Itero. I have been offered the position of eProduction Manager, which will oversee the companies web production group. I am really looking forward to this new opportunity. I have interviewed with a lot of companies over the years, and this was the most comfortable interview I have had.
There was an immediate attraction during my first interview when my Director entered the room with a 17" Apple Powerbook. I knew I was in the right place. We immediately had a Mac connection, and it was all downhill from there. He explained that the creative/design side of the company is all Macintosh based, which is another big plus for me. I believe that if you are going to do great work, you have to have great equipment.
Anyway, I met with the companies Senior staff, and had a tour of the facility. The company is full of very creative and intelligent people. I think it will be a good fit. :) I am very excited and grateful to be getting back into corporate technology after a short stint with the school district and running my own company. I’ve been away too long, and I am rested and ready to work. I will keep you posted.
We’ve seen some really nice sunsets in Texas recently. There have been a few cold fronts roll through the state, and it’s cooled things down. It’s been a nice relief. However, it looks like 100 degree tempuratures all next week. Yay!! Alex doesn’t like the hot weather. When he gets too warm, he gets fussy and turns bright red (like his mother). Next week is our first swim lesson. We are taking him to Emler Swim School. They take babies starting at 6 months, and since Alex already loves the water we think he will do just fine. The last couple times we’ve been to the pool, he kicks and flaps his arms so much he ends up falling asleep in our arms. Have you ever tried to take a swim diaper off a sleeping baby? It can be a challenge. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Try and stay cool.. [ Click on the photo see a larger version ]
We had a busy weekend. We hosted all the parents for the holiday. They traveled from Oklahoma to see Alex. Not only did the parents come to Texas, but Audrey’s grandmother made the trip as well. Of course when the parents are in town, we have to go shopping. We went to Grapevine Mills Mall. Alex and Audrey got some new cloths, and we all did a LOT of walking. In fact, Alex was so tired he decided to take a nap, and Daddy was happy to push him all over the mall. On Monday, everyone left and we went with some friends to watch the fireworks show. It was very relaxing watching fireworks from a swimming pool. Although it was a fun weekend, this is the first year I didn’t light fireworks. As soon as Alex gets a little older we will have a lot of fun with the fireworks. I hope your Independance Day weekend was filled with fun and excitement. [ Click on the photo see a larger version ]
