Good Weekend

What a great weekend! Alex has his well visit on Friday. He lost 2 pounds from being sick the previous week, but he is not 30 inches long, and weighs 20 pounds. Dr. Paurulo said he is doing perfect. That night, we met some friends at Don Pablos for dinner. Our friends, Heather and Nicco Warren, are moving back from Atlanta. They will be making their home in Melissa, Texas in December. It will be good to have them close to us again. On Saturday, we did some major shopping, and then it was off to McDonald’s for a birthday party. Alex ate a cheeseburger, small fries, milk, some of Mom’s sundae, some of Dad’s cheesecake and he still wanted some of the birthday cake. His little belly was so hard, we finally had to pull him away from the food. It’s safe to say he has his appetite back. Mom and I was afraid he was going to throw up all that food, but he was able to keep it down and had a good sleep Saturday night.

Sunday brought some nice weather and a wagon ride. Alex was so good all weekend, I thought it would be a good idea to get our and get some fresh air. On the way back, we met up with some neighbors whose son wanted a wagon ride as well. It was heaven for those little boys.

Now it’s back to a long week of meetings and more meetings. How was your weekend?

One down.. many more to go

The first birthday party is behind us. Alex had been sick off during the week, and it finally came down to an ear infection. Add some teething on top of that, and you have the recipe for a wonderful weekend. The boy has 12 teeth already, but apparently, it’s time for more. He was cranky all weekend to say the least. He pretty much sat in his mother’s lap during his birthday party. He smiled and gave some kisses away, but he wasn’t 100% and you could tell. I really felt bad for him. He has been staying hopped up on Tylenol and Ammoxicillin for the last few days, and he is getting better but its taking some time. One thing he did enjoy this weekend: Wagon rides with friends. I think the wagon scored on A on Mr. Alex’s scorecard.

Thank you to all who came. Alex had a great time spending the afternoon with his friends. We all want to say a big super duper thank you to DJ Brown who decorated Alex’s cake. She is an amazing cake creator, and the time and energy she puts into those cakes really shows the love she has for her friends. Thank you DJ!!!

If you haven’t yet, take some time to see the photos from his party. Heather Radebaugh was kind enough to man the camera while I shot the video. She really got some great photos!! Thanks again everyone. We are all so blessed to have great friends like you!

Alex at One Year

One year ago today, Alex was born. He was such a cute little guy. At 5:03 p.m., he made his presence known to the world, and made Audrey and I the most happy parents on the planet.

Today, my baby boy turns one year old. I can not believe how far he has come. He is walking, swimming and learning how to wave and blow kisses. He gives big open mouth kisses, but there is nothing more precious than when he comes walking at me with his mouth gaping open. I am not sure if he wants to eat me or kiss me. For his birthday, Audrey and I bought him a Radio Flyer. I picked it up on my lunch hour yesterday, and I will try to get it put together tonight. On Saturday, we’re having a birthday party for him, so I will be spending the evening giving wagon rides. Of course, I won’t mind as it will be an honor to pull the birthday boy.
