First, lets get the marketing hoopla out of the way. Apple says this on their web site:
Introducing iPhone 3G. With fast 3G wireless technology, GPS, support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more amazing features in your hands. And just like the original iPhone, it combines three products [...]

Springing Into Spring

Posted by David on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006

I know, I know. It’s been a while since I have updated my journal. It’s been a busy time for our family. Let me go back a ways to the first of March, and work my way forward.

The beginning of March brought a birthday for my wonderful wife. This year, she turned 30. We gathered with some of Audrey’s closest friends, and spent a night on the town. We all went out for dinner at a delicious Japanese restaurant, and then we ended up at a club in Addison. Audrey said that it was her best birthday so far. Thank you to all of you who made it so special for her.

Alex is becoming more and more of a handful. His communication skills are developing at a rapid pace. In addition to his baby sign language, he can pretty much tell you want he wants now. He jabbers a lot, but we mostly understand things like, “more”, “thank you”, “please”, “drink”, “dog”, and our favorite, “park”. Since the park is right across the street he wants to go ALL the time. It doesn’t matter what time of day, rain or shine, he always gets our of the car, points and says, “park” which really comes out as, “paw”. He is truely amazing, and a blessing to our lives.

Just this past week, we drove to Oklahoma to spend some time with our parents. Unfortunately, my parents are not well. My father has a hole in his heart, and only 20% use of his kidneys. The doctors are unable to do anything with his heart, because of his kidneys, and they are unable to do anything with his kidneys because of his heart. It’s just a loose/loose situation. In addition to these ailments, he also has a lot of fluid in his lungs, which causes him to cough - so hard in fact that sometimes he passes out due to lack of oxygen. Although I am not a doctor I know one thing to be two things to be true, uremia and renal failure are not good things nor is poor circulation of blood in the heart. We are continuing to pray for my father, and I hope you will do the same. He needs all the prayers he can get.

My mother is still battling her cancer. She is still getting chemotherapy and taking Tarceva. She’s been doing pretty well, and her quality of life is great. We’re just hoping for remission soon. Thankfully, my mother has a great attitude, and is very positive about her situation.

This coming weekend, Audrey is off to a Scrapbook-thing. It’s going to be a cool Daddy-Alex weekend. We’re going to have some fun which translates to Alex and I will be spending a lot of time at the “paw”.
