Potty Training
Before I begin, let me say Happy Birthday to the greatest mother EVER!! Happy Birthday Mom! I hope you have a great day!! Your the best! Alex says, “Lub You!”
It’s the photo that he will hate me for. Several weeks ago Alex began bringing us his diaper and the wipes box. Interestingly enough, when we would go to change him, he was always dirty. Therefore, he must know when he is dirty. Soon other behavior would follow. He would begin saying “poo-poo” and “pee-pee” at any random time. Our reaction was to swoop him up and take him to the bathroom. The result is that we are lucky to begin potty training at 17 months. We decided to grab a training seat and start to work with him. As you can see, he is quite at home on the throne.
Alex is also learning new words all the time, and is improving on motor skills. For instance, he can throw and kick a ball now. Although he is not the best shot in the world, he has the motion down well. He still enjoys the park very much, and is enjoying the company of Winnie. We usually let Winnie outside while we eat, but Alex is beginning to ask that she stay inside. He loves watching her, and tries to ride her occasionally. It hurts his feelings, though, when Winnie has had enough and starts to growl at him. Audrey and I do not know what we’re going to do if something happens to Winnie.
