Stop the Pain

It was a really rough weekend. Alex is getting his two year molars, and it is making it pretty tough for Mom and Dad. The weekend started out pretty good. Friday night was a good evening, we went to dinner and enjoyed some family television time. On Saturday morning, someone replaced my son with a monster. He started throwing fits, misbehaving, and his newest thing - screeching. It’s like I live with a monkey. When he doesn’t like something or disagrees with something I saw or do he screeches at me. It becomes even more annoying when he does it in public. Needless to say, our weekend was challenging.

Audrey, on the other hand, is having one of the best started to school she has had in a long while. My job has been very stressful lately, so its nice to hear that Audrey’s job is peachy. I am really looking forward to Labor Day, but I could use a week off from work. It would be nice to clear my head and relax, but I am trying to save the rest of my vacation time for Christmas. I always like taking a week off at Christmas to spend time with my wife and monkey.. err.. son.

It was another 100 degree day. We had 42 100+ degree days this year, and it’s really getting old. My electric bill has been $300 and that is not making Daddy a happy camper. Surely cooler days are just days ahead.

Until next time everyone..

Monthly Report

Okay, I know. It’s been a long time since I last posted anything. There is so much going on in my life and at work that by the time I get around to my own web site I just don’t feel like doing anything. It’s sad, too, because for the most part my web site is automated. I select the photos I want in iPhoto, enter the commets, click a button and it’s all done - uploaded, posted with comments, etc. Yet, I still find it hard to do that. I guess I have just been lazy lately.

Audrey goes back to school on Wednesday. Alex has been in daycare for a week or so now while Audrey was getting her room set up for the year. Alex started his next swim class last Wednesday, and he is doing pretty well. He is the youngest in the class. The next oldest child is 2 1/2. They put him in a different class because they think he’s ready for the next class. He can swim underwater by himself now. Last weekend, he was actually diving for diving sticks in the shallow end of the pool. It will take some getting-used-to because we are no longer in the pool with him. I guess we should be proud that he is swimming this well and he is not even 2 yet. The instructors at Emler Swim School are pretty impressed with how well he has been doing. He must get that from his mothers side since I was scared of the water that young.

Work has been really stressful lately. My boss moved to Spain, so that has caused a bit of a change. The pressure intensified when he told me that the only reason he was moving was he knew he could trust me and that I was doing an excellent job. No pressure on me, though, right? :)

I hope everyone is doing well, and staying cool. I am not sure what the weather is like where you are, but it’s been in the 100’s for most of the summer with very little to no rain at all. And did I mention the humidity sucks?

I am off to bed. All this typing has made me sleepy. Don’t forget your favorite friend has a birthday next month. Toot, toot.
