New Look

As you can see, I finally made the switch over to the new system. You now have two choices, the blog or the photos. I am still trying to tweak some of the pages so they look and act consistent throughout the site, and also improve on the look. Look for more improvements coming soon.

Off to bed.

The Future of Dave’s World

I will make this quick since I am at work.

Over the past week or so, I have been doing a lot of research (for work) regarding blogs and they relate to social networking on the Internet. During my research, I realized something — I really don’t need to continue building out with my own personal web site as I have been. There are two major functions that my web site serves: Blog and Photos. This is really the only thing on my web site. With this in mind, I have began searching for the next version of Dave’s World. It will, more than likely, end with a new template of blog software and a photo gallery. That’s it.

Am I wrong here? Based on the site stats, most of you come for photos or to read my boring posts. Is there anything else I am missing?

Sound off below.

Alex the Chicken

Alex is a ChickenWe went Halloween costume shopping for Alex yesterday. We left with the idea of looking for either a Moe Doodlebop costume (from the Doodlebops) or a Stewie Griffin costume (from the Family Guy). We visited a local costume shop, but didn’t find anything good. They mostly had adult costumes, and I do mean adult. They had skimpy Playboy-style costumes for women — maids, nurses, you get the picture and they also had really horrible, horror costumes. We also tried Wal-mart and Target. We found the perfect costume at Target. We asked Alex to try it on, which he eagerly did. When he got the costume on, he wouldn’t take it off. He rode in the basket through Target saying, “Bawk, Bawk.” Alex is a ChickenAs you can imagine, people saw him and smiled. He was his normal self, showing off and loving it. I can not imagine where he gets this trait. The costume is pretty heavy, so I am sure it was hot. As we were getting close to the check out, he asked to take it off. When we unzipped it to take him out his poor little head was sweaty. Audrey and I hope it will be a cool night Halloween night. Alex makes a cute chicken. What do you think?

Me Weekend

It was a fantastic weekend. Audrey and Alex left for Oklahoma City Friday after work. They went to see Thomas the Train, or I should say, a train with a piece of plywood painted like Thomas strapped to the front of it. With the wife and child away, it was time for some ‘me’ time and I took full advantage. I did something I have never done before - I got a pedicure. Now before you start making fun let me tell you that a pedicure is not what I expected. It’s more than clipping and cleaning up your feet, it’s a full blown leg and feet massage. It was so good, I am going to start getting one every couple week to keep my nasty, callused heel all smooth and sexy. :)

After my hour and a half foot lovin’, I headed into Allen to pick up some new shoes. It’s been a few years since I bought some regular walking shoes, so I was due. I was even able to make it home to relax in a silent house before Audrey and Alex pulled into the driveway. I won’t go on about how nice the nap was, or the coolness of having the bed to myself.

It was a really good time, but I missed my family. Alex had a blast seeing Thomas. I will post some pictures this week. Thank you, Audrey!
