This weekend Audrey and I registered for Baby Number 2. This time around it was much easier — we were in and out of Wal-mart
in 30 minutes. For those of you who didn’t know yet, we’re having another boy, so we have a lot of hand-me-downs to bestow upon our new bundle of joy! As the time gets closer, we’re getting more and more excited. When the little guy is active, we like to let Alex feel the kicking. I think Alex is excited to have a little brother, but it’s still unclear how he will react to having a little brother around the house all the time. I think the excitement will quickly fade the first night he is awaken by screaming and crying.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve been able to post to my blog. My job has been requiring 12-14 hour days as of late. The good news is that there is some relief in sight — more on this to come. No only has my work been more demanding, but Audrey has also been putting in more time at work. It seems that every year there is one more conference, festival, open house or some other time consuming event that pulls her away in the evening. We can thank our wonderful president for this — the No Child Left Behind stuff is a load of bunk. I have never spoken out openly against Bush, but I am looking forward to lower gas prices and this No Child Left Behind stuff to come to an end next year.
September 11 came and went. I received a lot of phone calls and e-mails — thank you all for wishing me a happy birthday. I don’t think 33 years makes me feel as old as to know I have 2 children. Can you believe that? I have two children. I still can’t grasp the thought of that. As much as I love Alex, he just exhausts me. He is a funny kid. He can always make me smile with just a bit of conversation. It goes something like this:
Me: Hey, Alex. Do you know what we’re doing today?
Alex: Yes.
Me: Really, what are we doing today?
Alex: Tell me.
Isn’t that hilarious? He does that all the time to me. Just when I think, “Wow, does he really know what we’re doing today? Did his mother tell him?” He comes back with a “Tell me!”. It always makes me smile.
As the baby approaches, we’ve been talking about upgrading Audrey’s car. She is going to need a little more space, so we went to the Ford dealership this weekend to look around. We both liked the Ford Edge
. They had a Copper Orange color that we really liked. It was OSU orange, so Audrey fell in love right away. Does anyone have a friend or family member with an Edge? Can you give us some pointers as to whether its a good car or not?
That’s about all I have to report this time around. I will try to get some new photos of Audrey on the web site soon. For some of the most current photos, you can visit my .Mac Gallery
. The iPhone allows me to take photos, and send them directly to this page on the fly as I take them, so it’s easier for me to update.
Take care of yourself, and keep in touch!!
