Us: 12, Them: 1

It was a great start to the Soccer season for the Little Tots. Alex’s team scored 12 today. Alex scored one (maybe two) of those runs, and assisted in several more. It was pretty awesome.

The entire team   Alex, Tori and Taryn start Soccer Season 2

We started off with a small lunch at Babe’s Chicken Dinner House . Once Tori, Taryn and Alex got their belly’s full, we went to the Blue Sky for the first game of the season. All the kids were excited to get into their new jersey’s and play some soccer.

And Andrew.. well, here is what happens when he gets his belly full:

11 Years

Happy anniversary to my lovely wife. It’s been a pretty awesome 11 years. We just had dinner at III Forks, and it was amazing! You know your in a nice joint when they have wash rags to dry your hands. I am blogging from my iPhone while I wait for the movie Swing Vote to start — technolgy is so cool.

Here are some photos for ya. The first is Andrew who crashed after a shopping trip. The other is the doors of my new favorite restaurant.

All is quiet.. for now

It’s almost 10:00 p.m., and the only sound in the house is Audrey putting on the crib sheets. Alex is asleep after a long play in the bathtub, and Andrew is laying in our bed after a long night of crying. Andrew, like his brother, is getting teeth early.. a lot of teeth. Poor guy. I do love the sound of a quiet house. Audrey just passed by me.. she is going to shower. She’s been to the gym. She needs a shower.

I love my family, and I wouldn’t trade them for the world. But I have to tell you, the chaos is sometimes overwhelming. It’s like Andrew and Alex duck in the corner, and coordinate their attacks. It’s tough. Andrew is just cranky lately because of his teeth, but Alex is back to testing the water.. on an hourly basis. I feel like all I do is get on to him. On Saturday, Alex and I took Mom’s car to the dealership to have her oil changed and the tires rotated. I snapped the photo here while we waited. He is showing off his new Batman action figure. He’s such a cute kid. He is looking more and more like Audrey side of the family as he gets older. That’s a good thing.

On to nicer thoughts. I woke early this morning, and stopped by the Apple Store on my way to work. I expected to have to wait until Christmas to get one. The lines have always been hours long since the launch last month. I arrived when the mall opened this morning, and I was the first in line. There are a few things I will point out for those who are asking, “Should I upgrade?”.

1. The call quality is much better. They are crystal clear.
2. The GPS is much more accurate. Instead of showing you a 10 mile radius, it will show you exactly where you are. I suppose this could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your level of paranoia.
3. The speaker phone is actually usable. Even a deaf guy like me can hear it.
4. The volume overall is much better — the rings, the events, etc.
5. The 3G network is quite a bit faster. In a real world test, a co-worker and I visited the same web site at the same time, and mine loaded in 18 seconds as opposed to his 40 seconds. The web site was one neither him nor I visited on our iPhone before — www.palm.com.

I upgraded just to upgrade. It wasn’t something I was just excited to do. The features I saw, 3G and GPS weren’t huge draws for me. However, the few additional things I mentioned above things I saw only after I upgraded, and are actually worth the upgrade. Know anyone who wants to buy a used first generation iPhone? :)

For those of you who want more photos of Andrew, I am sorry. I promise I will be taking some more soon. Usually when he is awake, he’s so busy its hard to get a camera in front of him. I will try better to get more photos soon.

It’s after 10 now, so I will be heading to bed. I have to get up in the morning and head to the gym. Ugg..

Where does the time go? You wouldn’t believe how Andrew is growing. He is our little Buddha. He is rolling over easily now, he get his arms and legs under him and arch his back. He will be 6 months on the 7th, so he may actually be walking earlier than Alex did. If you remember, Alex was walking at 10 months. We’re having a good time with Andrew. I have added some recent photos, but there are more on my Facebook page.

Have you ever spent 11 hours in the car with a 6 month old and a 3 1/2 year old child? I don’t recommend it. I mean, vacation is great, but when you have a car load of children it should really be called ‘Time off work’. :) We did have a great time in Tennessee, though. We visited my brother, Terry, who has several acres of land just south of Nashville. We had a chance to visit, do some shooting and enjoy being with family. My sister, Cheryl, went as well, which made it even more fun.

Our next vacation will be to Branson. This trip will be sans chiildren. Alex and Andrew will be staying with Nanna and Pappa for a few days while Mommy and Daddy get some R&R.

I will take some time and post more updates when I am not at work. Have a safe and happy July 4th!
